The Magical Pumpkin PatchIt was a beautiful fall Monday when we set out to plant our magical pumpkin seeds. The sun was shining and the temperature was just right. The patch of grass where we planted our seeds stood still and not a branch or leaf was to be found. We carefully picked a special spot for our seeds and all the while we believed that these seeds were indeed magical. On Tuesday the sun wasn't shinning, the clouds were casting dark shadows and the sky threatened us with rain. We still believed and hoped that in the afternoon the sun would appear and so would our pumpkins. To our delight the sun arrived and the day turned out to be spectacular. Mr. Andrew started up the tractor and we headed down the path to the magical pumpkin patch.
The sounds of delight, laughter and amusement lingered in
the air. The children ran to the very spot where they planted their seeds.
Amazement and surprise instilled in their eyes. There is nothing more special
and endearing to witness the joy and astonishment on a child's face when they
truly believe they just witnessed "magic." We picked our special pumpkin and all declared it was in the exact spot where they planted their magical seeds. Some of us are going to make jack-o-lanterns and some of us are going to decorate them. Many of us just want to look at them as they decorate our home. All that matters is that we all walked away with what we truly believe are magic pumpkins. I am so thankful everyday that I get to be a part of your child's life and have the opportunity to teach them through these informative and impressionable years. Wishing all of you a year filled with magic and the gift to believe.
Sincerely,
