PARK SHORE COUNTRY DAY CAMP: THE KINDEST CAMP ON LONG ISLAND
Park Shore has created a new program called “Park Shore Kindness Kards.”
This program is designed to generate acts of kindness throughout the camp. Park Shore is confident that these principles of behavior will continue throughout our camper’s lives outside of camp. In today’s busy lifestyle where everyone is rushing, we sometimes forget about others and kindness is often lost. Our hope is that our campers and staff will “Pay It Forward” and Park Shore’s new program will have a profound impact on our camp and surrounding communities.
Using the concept of trading cards, Park Shore Directors will carry
their own personalized picture trading cards and hand them out to groups
worthy of receiving them because of a GENUINE act of kindness. The
idea is to get a different Director’s trading card for doing a kind
gesture for another camper, camp group, staff member or for the camp in
general. Each day at lunch the DJ will announce the groups that
received trading cards. We will celebrate the kindness of each group and
our hope is that KINDNESS IS CONTAGIOUS!
The goal of each group is to collect the entire set, including a very
limited number of trading cards of the owners, Bob and Chuck, throughout
the course of the summer. The end result will be a grand “Pay It Forward” celebration. A generous donation to the Make A Wish Foundation will be presented on behalf of all of our campers.
The TRUE goal of the Park Shore Kindness Kards Program is to teach our
campers the value of their acts of kindness and how those acts of
kindness affect other campers, the camp as a whole, and other people who
they will come into contact with throughout their lives. We are very
excited about this program and Park Shore’s hope is that we will be
known as “The Kindest Camp on Long Island”.
